The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Annual Pony Express is a proud Texas tradition that symbolizes history, service, and community spirit. Each year, riders on horseback ride in a pony express style to deliver official invitations to the Texas State Capitol on behalf of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
This ceremonial ride honors the legacy of the original Pony Express while showcasing the riderscommitment to preserving Texas heritage. More than a delivery, the Pony Express represents unity between law enforcement, state leaders, and the community, celebrating the values, traditions, and western heritage that define both Texas and the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
